VCareEarth and The Ricky Rubio Foundation donate masks to the Red Cross to protect the most vulnerable

  • TRRF’s Luca Project has facilitated this partnership with a commitment to help as long as new cases of community contagion are not detained.
  • The Red Cross will distribute the masks where there are outbreaks of infection, among the most vulnerable groups.

VCareEarth and The Ricky Rubio Foundation have signed a collaboration agreement to contribute to the improvement of public health and the containment of Covid.19, which has become the new threat of the pandemic.

This two institutions sponsor the regular donation of KN 95 masks that the Catalan Red Cross is in charge of distributing among users with fewer resources in the epicenters of these outbreaks, as it did a few days ago in the Segrià and L’Hospitalet regions.

The commitment will be maintained monthly or bimonthly, depending on the degree of need, until these cases of localized community contagion are extinguished. The batch of 900 masks is already in the hands of the Catalan Red Cross for distribution.

VCareEarth is considered one of the most recognized brands in the personal protective equipment market for the quality and safety of its range of PPE supplies, as its managers explain: “We have been working hard to maintain our commitment to support individuals, communities and businesses in these critical times. We focus on providing specific solutions in the sector with a policy based on efficiency, fair prices, accessibility and convenience, manufacturing, assembling and shipping personal protection equipment around the world”.

The types of particulate respirators that prevent VCare’s COVID.19 infection are the KN95, FFP2 and N95 NIOSH. These are comparable classes subject to various regulatory controls worldwide. They offer efficient, two-way protection for aerosols and solids and accessories with high-level regulation against viruses such as COVID-19.

A plan for 100.000 families

Through the Cruz Roja RESPONDS plan, The Catalan Red Cross has played an important role in the social management of the pandemic, providing humanitarian aid to more than 100,000 families in Catalunya that represents a total of 400,000 people. Through its networks and structure, nearly 2 million kilos of food have been distributed in 52 centers, 20,000 prepaid cards, 12,000 batches of basic necessities and food. The entity has also processed and managed up to 600 places in 9 shelters for people at high risk of social vulnerability, such as the homeless, refugees or women victims of gender violence.

The answer of the public and of the most important sectors in economic activity has been exceptional: as more than 4,500 new volunteers have joined the entity during this period, reaching more than 7,000 people, including volunteers and technical staff. For their part, 245 companies and foundations have collaborated in the fight against the pandemic through product or financial donations.

The Ricky Rubio Foundation and VCare

The Ricky Rubio Foundation is grateful again for the collaboration of institutions and companies that remain on high alert for the pandemic, such as VCare and the Red Cross, which have jointly undertaken to deliver and distribute thousands of masks of maximum efficiency to the most vulnerable citizens of the country while the situation requires the permanent use of this protection to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

The Ricky Rubio Foundation’s actions are a consequence of the diversion of a VCare collaboration that was initially intended to contribute to the Luca Project. As a result of the temporary suspension of part of the program due to mobility limitations, the effort has been transformed into a direct action to help the fight against the pandemic.
