More than 40,000 families benefited thanks to the Frescapte campaign by Ametller Origen, Creu Roja Catalunya and The Ricky Rubio Foundation

Creu Roja Catalunya will distribute more than 200,000kg of fruits and vegetables collected thanks to the Frescapte solidarity campaign, launched by Ametller Origen and sponsored by Ricky Rubio and Marc Gasol.

The initiative was launched in December, and invited the entire community to purchase a solidarity bracelet valued at €5, the proceeds of which would go entirely to the purchase of fresh food for families at risk of social exclusion.

The result was a success: more than 40,000 bracelets were sold and, thanks to an extra 10% contributed by Ametller Origen, Creu Roja Catalunya has more than 200,000kg of food that will be distributed and delivered strategically to those families who, after the pandemic, were left in situations of maximum vulnerability.

“Fresh food is the most needed, but it is also the least received. Thanks to Ametller Origen’s Frescapte initiative, families at risk of vulnerability are receiving fruits and vegetables in their homes, food necessary to ensure a complete and healthy diet,” explained the president of the Red Cross in Catalonia, Josep Quitet.

With the slogan “We will win this match together! Wear the bracelet”, a total of 40,000 solidarity bracelets have been sold during a month through the physical stores and also in the online store www.ametllerorigen.com. The participation of Creu Roja volunteers, as well as the commitment of Ricky Rubio, Marc Gasol and other celebrities who have joined through social networks, have ensured that the first edition of this great initiative has ended with a memorable success.
