About this project
Ricky Rubio will be a new collaboration for his first Event at “Gran Premi FIE.” The event will take place on the 26th of July at Circuit de Barcelona – Catalunya at 18.00h. The point guard from Masnou, who now a basketball player in the NBA will be part of one of the mixed teams, set up by his friends and colleagues from The Ricky Rubio Foundation. One of the many activities of the event is a bike race. Ricky Rubio will participate in it, among other athletes: Laia Sanz, Iván Cervantes, Gerard Farrés, Carles Checa, Joan Pedrero and Jaume Betriu, and many others.
This event represents the hard work of the GP FIE program, which incorporates a diversity of activities for all kinds of public. There will also be a party that will start at 16:00h and finish after midnight. Another activity that will take place in this event is called “Empathize With The Other,” where through sports and values, the youngest of the youth will have the opportunity to understand the difficulties of having a physical disability.
Also, Circuit Barcelona – Catalunya offers the public the possibility to visit the facilities and have access with their own car at Montmelo circuit.
Music played during the afternoon will be played by the band called Batokatu d’Oliana. Once the prizes and medals are given out, the music will be played by Bandarra Street Orkresta until the evening. The catering will be served by Gremi Hosteleria del Vallles Orientall. The night will finish with a stand-up show by a comedian named Pep Plaza.
The Isidre Esteve Foundation, which lead by the Oliana pilot that had suffered a medullar accident while he was racing a bike, has the objective to improve the quality of life of the people who have a physical disability or mobility problems by practicing physical activity. The Isidre Esteve Foundation and The Gran Premi event has the objective to encourage everyone to take part in this initiative that helps to improve the quality of life through sports to people regardless of their physical capacities.
