Masnou hosted different activities to create awareness of the importance of preserving the earth. Yesterday, on the 5th of June is World Environment Day, while the 8th of June was the World Day of Oceans. Also, during these days in Catalonia, there was a celebration called The Week of Nature where Ricky Rubio participated in an activity called “Blue Operation”.
Ricky Rubio, an NBA player, took part this morning in the activity called “Blue Operation” at the beach called Ocata, Masnou. Also, The Mayor of Masnou, Jaume Oliveras and The Ministers Silvia Folch and Quim Fabregas were there. The event was organized by SOREA and was supported by the City Hall of Masnou.
The main protagonists of this event are the 250 students from the schools Marinada, Ocata and Lluis Millet who cleaned a big part of the beach of different waste. Eighty percent of the pollution at the seaside comes from the civilization. Ricky Rubio also helped and he has been leading activities to promote and educate how to use water responsibly along with activities in the water, like Paddle surf or Kayak.
